our next work-weekend being organized for April 21-22.
Activities will also include a cookout, camping (for those who wish

Property to border new Tennessee State Park
Mission To
Missionaries' property near Crossville will soon be neighboring part
of the new Cumberland Trail State Park. When completed, the Cumberland
Trail project will feature a continuous 300-mile hiking and
backpacking trail that will extend from near Chattanooga to Cumberland
Gap near the Kentucky state line. The Cumberland Trail is an official
project of the Tennessee Parks and Recreation Division.
Tennessee’s
governor, Phil Bredesen, announced in January that the state was
buying 12,500 acres of land at a cost of 17.3 million dollars for new
Tennessee parks, 5,000 acres of which are earmarked for the Cumberland
Trail project. Our property borders some of those 5000 acres to the
south (across the creek) and to the west (across the county road).
This development represents an ideal situation for Mission To
Missionaries by ensuring that our property will remain in an area free
of major commercial developments.
The trail will also
provide our guests with an additional nearby attraction to enjoy.
